Brandon McKay Steals The Show
In 2017 I was in Louisville covering the first round of the NCAA baseball tournament. I had two teams there so it was busy, but fun weekend. That Louisville team was loaded with players that would get drafted very shortly. Scouts and photographer were everywhere for that reason. Early in the game you couldn’t find a spot to make a photo of Louisville pitcher Brandon McKay. Of course by the third inning the photographers had moved on. I wanted to change positions, and while I did I decided to grab a couple of quick photos of McKay. I had this idea early on in the game, and I waited until it was available to try it out.
Using The Light To Your Advantage
This is an example of having some fun with the light. As the sun set in Louisville we had some great light to work with. I had this idea for a black and white photo that used the Louisville Cardinal logo on the batter’s eye. It seemed like at this moment everything was lit like I would want it to be.
