The Goldfinch Stops By The House

This American Goldfinch must know just how bored I can get at home with this stay at home order because it spent a lot of time making noise to make sure that I saw it out the back window. Then it proceeded to pose for me giving me quite a few good looks at it. Most of those looks did not make for good photos though. I finally just asked it to do the bird on a stick pose, and it was happy to do so.

Spring Color Starts To Return

For most of the winter this bird is not quite as yellow as it is during the spring. The winter is a time when the color seems to be sapped from the landscape. Any color returning is a great thing. The spring migration has already started and with it comes a lot of colorful birds. Things are about to get very interesting.
