Pregame Fun In An NBA Arena
Part of the fun of making photos in an arena like Banker’s Life is the many little nooks and crannies to find little photos. I spent more time than I care to admit outside of the Purdue locker room waiting for anyone to come out and find one of those nooks to stretch in. At nearly the last minute one player came out to stretch, but it made it worth the wait.
Making Photos In Banker’s Life Arena
This is a great arena to make photos in. You have so much light that you start to feel spoiled. I think that Mackey Arena is well lit, but Banker’s Life is maybe a stop higher. I always try and make a wide angle photo that shows some of the signage as well as the good crowd that is there to see the game. Photos in an NBA arena just have a different look to them so I try and get all of that into my gallery.
My First Road Game Of The Year
It is hard to believe but it took this long in the season for me to hit the road. I usually am on the road so much. Last year that settled down a little, and this year I have been busy enough here in West Lafayette so that I am not traveling. I already have some road stuff booked in May so I know that this won’t be the last game away from home, but it made me think that I need to get out and make some photos in some different arenas as well.
My Last Sporting Event Of The Year?
This was the last sporting event of the year on the books for me. It is hard for me to believe that I will go 10 days without finding some sort of event to photograph, but this time of year that is possible. If this was the last event of the year for me it was an amazing year. I am so lucky to get to do what I do. That fact never escapes me. As I watched Robbie Hummel interview Matt Painter before the game I was thinking that it was not too long ago that I was in the stands watching Matt coach and Robbie play. I still don’t know how I ended up in the tunnel under Banker’s Life photographing them, but I am grateful for the chance.
