The New Gateway Arch At Purdue
Last night with a little bit of free time at just the right time I went down to the new gateway arch to check it out. Of course I did not factor in graduation when thinking about what to photograph. After waiting a few minutes the crowd thinned out, and I was able to have a few minutes alone with the new arch. It was at just the right time, and I was able to have some fun making images. The arch is brand new now, but it should remain a great way to greet students to campus for years to come.
Getting Out And Making A Wide Angle Photograph
Last week making some wider photos at the baseball game it dawned on me just how long it had been since I had gone out to make a photo with my wide angle lens in mind. I have been so focused on photography with my bigger lenses that I have completely forgotten this kind of photography. Seeing the new arch made me realize that I had a brand new cool subject to have some fun with. It was fun being on site coming up with the right way to make the photo. I really need to get out and do this more often.
