Purdue Men’s Tennis vs. Illinois

Two Tennis Matches In One Weekend

It is not often that I get to photograph tennis. This past weekend I was able to photograph tennis on Friday and Sunday. The Sunday match was a full gig so I was able to stay and watch the entire match. I hear people talk about how repetitive tennis can be, but much like baseball you have to stay in your lens for those moments that spontaneously happen. The jubilation or jube as I call it is what makes the day worthwhile.

A Big Anniversary

I missed it Friday, but it was the five year anniversary of my first paying job. I was shaking at the knees as I entered Mackey Arena on March 22, 2014 to cover the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team in the NCAA Tournament. I let the big game and the fact that I was getting paid get the best of me early on. I made a photo that I loved during pregame that calmed me down quite a bit. If I realized just how in over my head that I really was I would have really been scared, but luckily I did not. It is hard for me to fathom just how far I have come since that time. It is nothing to get complacent about, but still a fun thing to think about.
