Xavier Basketball at Marquette

Xavier Opens Up Big East Play With A Big Win Over Marquette

Wednesday night I was in Milwaukee to see Xavier start Big East play against at Marquette. This was a tough game that you knew would go down to the wire. Both sides were fighting to start the conference season on a positive note. At times it looked like one team had an advantage, and then the score would tighten again.

My Maiden Voyage To The Bradley Center

This past year I have seen a lot of photos come out of the Bradley Center as teams I follow have had a good run there. When Xavier contacted me about shooting their Big East opener up in Milwaukee the answer was pretty easy. I had shot a roller derby bout a few years ago across the street from the Bradley Center, and I even had a thought of buying a cheap Bucks ticket just to enter the place. I like to check out new stadiums, and with a game going on at the same time as my event why not? I ended up waiting, and that was a great thing as I was able to see it in a working capacity.

The Best Available Picture

You hear me say it quite a bit on here. I am there to capture the best available picture. This picture of a Marquette player is not why I was at the game. When a player stares you down and gives you this though you take it. At that time there was nothing for me to capture from my team so why not do it? Sometimes you make an interesting picture in between the photos that you are making for your client.

The 3, 2, 1 Plan

More than likely my sports year will end with three games in three days. I had the game in Milwaukee which is about three hours away from my house. By the time this post goes live I will have shot the Indiana State men’s MVC opener in Terre Haute which is two hours away, and on Friday I will shoot the Xavier women’s team as they open up Big East play at Butler which is one hour away.

You Miss 100% Of The Shots That You Don’t Take

I am pretty sure that Wayne Gretzky’s dad is the one to credit for that line. I normally don’t shoot the post game interviews. They are not something most clients want. Xavier wanted the interview, and so instead of running to the media room I made a photo of the interview. I am so glad that I stayed because this was one of my favorite photos from the night. Sometimes you have to stay and wait for one last photo.
