The Sycamores Travel To West Lafayette For a Charity Exhibition

Before the last ISU football game my Halloween weekend looked a lot different. I was schedule to have a long weekend heading to Missouri State to cover the Sycamore cross country teams as well as the football team. When this charity game was announced the plans slowly started to change. By Saturday my plans were officially changed, and I had a weekend at home for once. It is kind of nice to just stay in West Lafayette and shoot for once. I was excited for the Sycamores to come to me for once. I was also excited to see some familiar faces as well as some new ones on the Sycamore basketball team.

Familiar Faces In An Unfamiliar Place

I shot more Sycamore games last year than any other team. As I said above it was nice of them to finally come to me for a game. I had this idea for the shot above once I saw the train tracks. Early on in my photography career I covered Brenton’s brother Bryson here at Purdue. It would have been amazing to see the two go up against each other, but that would not happen here at Purdue. Brenton is a fun player to watch, and as we saw last year against Butler he can really change a game.

Mackey Arena Lookin’ Good

Last year I did not get to Mackey Arena as often as I would have liked. This year I have to change that. This place looks amazing with all of the upgrades to the stadium. The new video board is something else above the players. It is big, and it is beautiful. Purdue Athletics as a whole has really changed in the last few years, and it is all for the better. Looking at the arenas and content it is almost unrecognizable from when I was a season ticket holder. Those big time changes so far have led to some big time results. The new look of Mackey Arena is another way that potential student athletes will be wowed when they come to campus.

The Next Time I See The Sycamores

The next time that I will see ISU play will be in another Big Ten arena when they take on Indiana to start the season. I really have high expectations for this team. They have a lot of talent, and with a little luck they can put together a run this season. Some new faces should give some help to the veterans on the team as they try and win the MVC. I can’t believe that I am saying this, but I can’t wait for basketball season to begin.

The Week In Photos

As another week goes by we get another edition of my favorite photos from the previous week. This was a fun week as I was able to get back inside of Mackey Arena and Ross Ade Stadium in the same day. Add in some pre-Halloween fun and you have an interesting week of photos. You can take a look at my Exposure page with my favorites from last week here.
