Rain Comes and Goes at Bob Friend Field

Monday night I took the drone up to see if I could find a rainbow. The light seemed to be right, and with the right conditions a cool rainbow would show up. As I went up I saw the lights on at Bob Friend Field. I thought that West Lafayette was out of town Monday night, but they were home for some reason. I quickly brought the drone down to go and photograph the baseball game. Watching my live broadcast as I paused to shut it down you can clearly see a rainbow in the distance, but by then baseball was on the horizon and I didn’t see it.

Shooting in the Rain

Rain is not optimal for your camera gear. They are weather sealed very well, but rain is not something you want to shoot in very often. With that said it really does make for some good photos. I might be one of the only people who rushes into the rain situation as I did Monday night. I wanted to try some things out, and the rain allowed me to do that. I love the way that the rain is compressed at f/2.8 with my 400mm lens.

More Photos From the Game

I have unlocked the gallery from the game. I wasn’t there very long, but I did make some photos that I liked. You can click here to see the full gallery and download the photos that you like.
