The 2016 Colt World Series Kicks Off at Loeb Stadium

For some reason it took me a long time to find the Colt World Series. I lived here for a while two times before finding it. When I went to my first game in 2014 I was hooked. Last year we were not in town for most of the event so I did not get to attend. This year I plan to attend as much as I can. Yesterday I took in the better part of three of the games at Loeb Stadium. For all of the talk of replacing the stadium I really enjoy it. It is a classic baseball stadium with dirt and grass. I love the fact that dirt and dust flies up when a player is sliding into a base. You can see the grass flying around as players run in the outfield. It seems like that is how baseball should be. Over the course of the next few days I hope to put together a nice little photo story of the event. Day one was a good start for that. The photo above during the many anthems played shows just how many young men are experiencing this great event. Ten teams come into the first day with dreams of taking home the hardware at the end. Only one will win it all though.

Visit the Updated Website

With some cool events the last few weeks the website has been updated again. It is a constant process, but one that I enjoy doing. You can find the newly updated davewegielphoto.com here. I really love the Squarespace format. It allows me to have a clean website with very little effort on my part.

Below are a few photos that I liked from the day. I will put together an Exposure page for the tournament when it is all said and done, but here are a few that I liked from day one. You can view all of my photos from day one of the Colt World Series by clicking here.
