Out Catching Dinner

Photographing the Eagles of the Wabash

Part of the fun that I have had since moving back to West Lafayette has been finding the bald eagles that come here for the winter. Some years it is too cold so they have to go further south. This year though the conditions were great, and the eagles were plentiful. If you just waited long enough you would have something good to show for your patience. I would always think that I was doing okay, and then something else would happen that would be great. It takes a while for the eagles to get used to you so you have to give them that time. Once they realize that long white lens will not harm them they will go about their daily life. That includes plucking fish out of the river.

The Week In Photos
