UCSB Wins the Nashville Regional

Due to rain the Nashville regional of the NCAA baseball tournament was pushed back a little. Game six which should have been played on Sunday night was instead played Monday at two o’clock local time. The Gauchos weathered an early storm from Xavier to break open the game and advance. UCSB was a thorn in my side during the tournament as they were the only team to hand a team that I was shooting for a loss. They now move on the play Louisville in Louisville this weekend with a shot at Omaha and the College World Series on the line.

A Great Four Days

For some reason I really love shooting these tournaments. Everyone around the operations is ready for the tournament to end by the time it is over, but I usually am not ready for it to end. I love shooting baseball, and what better setting to shoot baseball then a tournament. The emotion and drama of the moment makes for good photos. The loss by Xavier ended their season. It also more than likely ended my college baseball season as well. This has been a fun year for shooting college baseball. I was able to cross a few stadiums off of my list that I have wanted to shoot at. I had an absolute blast working the MVC Tournament because everyone was so great there. In Nashville I was shooting for two great teams who treated me well too. With those two experiences to end the college season it is hard to see it go. It is not easy in this climate to find people who appreciate your photos. When you do it makes it easy to give your all for the client.

The Week in Photos

This last week was a really fun week as far as making pictures was concerned. Having just come back from covering the MVC Tournament I was ready for a break, but having the Canon 200-400mm lens waiting for me got me out shooting a little earlier than I had anticipated. It started with the Sectional Championship game at Loeb Stadium on Monday. I only shot a few innings, but they were great innings to shoot full of jube. The the Lafayette Aviators started their inaugural home season on Wednesday night. Of course five games of the NCAA Tournament regional were also a huge part of my week in Nashville. In the Exposure page I have a few of my walking around Nashville photos although I did not do as much of that as I could have because of the extended days at the ballpark. This was a great week for photos, and I don’t know how I could top this next week. You can look through some of my favorite photos here. I apologize for the large gallery, but I had some fun this week.

Bonus Photos

Here are a few bonus photos that I liked from the final game.
