Snow on the Door Prairie Barn

Being Back Home at the Perfect Time

I was home a couple of weeks ago for some family matters when a heavy snow came down in LaPorte. When the first light came the next day I knew right where I wanted to head to. I drove to the Door Prairie barn to make some photos. I love the old barn, and I try to make photos of it in great light whenever I can. Here I had great light and a fresh blanket of snow all around. With the light I thought that a black and white might be in order. As I was getting ready to leave I looked over and saw a deer wander into the scene. A great scene just became a little cooler. I made a couple of extra photos as the deer walked into the good light. Sometimes you just have a run of good luck when you arrive at a scene. This was one of those times.

My New Website

Have you seen my new website yet? I have been adding new elements to it over the course of the last few weeks. You can find the site at www.davewegielphoto.com or www.davewegielphoto.net. So far I really like the simple, clean design of the site. As a photographer I also love the large photos on the site. If you haven’t checked it out yet go ahead and give it a look.
