West Lafayette Beats Twin Lakes 56-6 On Senior Night
Last night I went out to the West Side football field to make a few photos. It is hard for me to believe, but it was the first high school football game that I have shot this season. Something is always in the way of me shooting a game. I love football in any form, but high school to me is the purest form of it. The score may say otherwise, but early on this game was very much in doubt. The Red Devils took control though, and made the second half look very easy. On a night like senior night you like to see many people get in the game. By the end the West Side bench looked to have been cleared out with many new people touching the ball.
The Canon 1DX
Yesterday I finally bit the bullet and bought the Canon 1DX. The 5D Mark III and the Canon 7D Mark II both have a similar feel and button placement. The 1DX does not. It took a little bit to figure it out, and eventually I did. My first impressions of the camera were very good, and I don’t expect that to change. I am sure over the next couple of days that I will have a few more things to say about the camera.
2015 MiLBY’s Photo of the Year
This year I covered only four games for the Indianapolis Indians, but I was blessed with some great action to photograph. My image of Josh Bell getting an ice bath after a 13th inning walk off hit in his first triple A game was nominated for the photo of the year by Minor League Baseball. I don’t ask for a lot, but if you could vote for it here that would be great. I am up against some great photos so I will need all the votes that I can get.
More Photos From the Game
Here are a couple of other photos that I liked from the game. I have a page up with all of the photos on my website here. If you like the Exposure format you can find them here as well.
