Using My GoPro to Document a Shoot
Sometimes I will slap my GoPro on top of my dSLR to show my view while photographing a sporting event. It is a way for me to see what I was looking at. Sometimes you miss the shot, and having this view lets you see why. It is a kind of game film for a photographer. It is also kind of neat to show my view during a shoot. I have not done this in quite a while. With a sport like hockey though I don’t photograph it very often so I wanted to see just how I was doing. I should have had this on my camera the next day as Purdue scored ten goals and won the championship. I was so into the game I did not think about throwing the GoPro on my camera. The Purdue Ice Hockey club won this game against the Indiana University Hockey club 5-3. There were some hard hits, and some nice goals. In the limited time that I had the GoPro running I managed to capture a couple of them. Before the basketball season ends I may try this a couple of times. The only problem is that I usually shoot vertical during the game, and that does not look very good on the video side. Maybe I can do a behind the scenes type look with the GoPro.
