Making Detail Images in the Middle of Chaos
Shooting a race weekend is chaos. Something is always happening on the track it seems like. You do not want to be making a picture in the infield when something happens on the track that is noteworthy. For some reason though this race weekend at Winchester seemed a bit slower to me. I took some time to go into the infield to make some photos of the classic cars that were there. This cover of a classic racing bike caught my eye. I was not going into the infield to make detail photos, but when something caught my eye I did so.
Editing the Photo in Lightroom 5
For this photo I did not need to do much to it. I adjusted the clarity and shadows to give this photo the look that I wanted. I then adjusted the vibrance to add some of the color into the photo. That is the end of the work that I did here. It was a quick and easy edit, and when you make a couple of thousand photos over the course of a weekend that is what you want for all of them.
Some Bonus Content
Above is a video that I made over the weekend of my many positions shooting various events. I will also link to my Exposure page here that was featured on the front page of the Exposure website. The Exposure format really helps me focus my photography for some reason. I am always thinking of content for it. Sometimes during the course of a long day you can kind of get in a zone of doing one thing. Thinking about a larger photo story helps me avoid that bad zone.
