Shooting the Chicago Theatre

This spring while in Chicago I went for a small photo walk on my own. I made a couple of photos from right here in front of the Chicago Theatre. This is a Chicago landmark so you feel as if you have to make photos of it. I waited for a while to get a cab in front of the theatre to add a little more flair from the big city. For some reason a yellow cab was never around though so I had to settle for an off color cab. I still like this photo for more of a snapshot than fine art. It stops a moment in time in Chicago.

Editing This Photo in Nik Software Silver Efex Pro

One of the best programs that I own is Silver Efex Pro. For some reason I do not use it nearly as much as I should. Sometimes I go into the program with a plan, and other times I let the presets guide me. For this photo I had an idea of what I wanted to do, but when I saw the Yellowed 2 preset I knew that I had what I wanted. I played with the sliders in the program, and then I exported the photo back into Lightroom 5. This is not my typical edit in Silver Efex Pro. I usually go for more of the fine art look in the program, but here I really liked what I was able to do.
