Using My GoPro To Document My Weekend

This past weekend I spent some time shooting the ARCA Racing Series and the Top Speed Modified Series at Winchester Speedway. Last year when I shot the ARCA race I used my GoPro to make some video of my experience. I really had no video editing experience at the time so it was just RAW video. This year I made a lot more video, but I edited it down a bit to make for a shorter video. That being said it is still ten minutes long. I tried to include a little bit of everything that I shot although I did not make video for some of it. Sometimes I get caught up in the moment, and I don’t turn on the GoPro. Anyway here is a look into how I spent my weekend.

Using GoPro Studio to Edit the Video

Unlike the time lapse video this one took a little more work. I had to edit each clip down, and then process the clips. I had quite a few clips in all so it took some time here. After they are processed though it is a fast process. I then put the clips onto the timeline in order, and add some music. As I said yesterday I use Incompetech for my music needs. In this case I wanted a more upbeat song so I picked the rock category. I could not find a ten minute long clip that I liked so I stitched one 3 1/2 minute clip together about three times. Sometimes you have to loop to get the job done. In all this probably took about 40 minutes to make although I bet 15 of those minutes I was away from the computer while it processed. I like making these videos because in watching the RAW footage I can see why I made the picture or why I missed it.
