Photo of the Day
Here is another photo from the small photo excursion that I took into the old Purdue power plant. An abandoned building gives many textures that photographers love. It is hard to imagine what it was like for the workers as they toiled in what had to be a very hot environment. You can never know what it is like, but you can photograph what it is like now.
Technical Data
As with the other photos from the excursion I used the HDR Look preset in Lightroom by Matt Kloskowski as a starting point. From there it was a matter of tweaking the sliders to obtain the look that I really wanted. In the past this would have been a case to use three images to form an HDR image. With the power of a single metered RAW file though you have all of the data that you need in one photo.
I love Purdue’s old buildings… never been to the power plant, though. Cool pic!
