Flexing My Muscles

Photo of the Day

Today I thought that I would try something new. I thought that I would start August off with one of my favorite pictures from June. I really had a good time photographing this Arnold Swarzenegger statue in Columbus. It look good from so many angles that I just kept shooting it. For this shot though I wanted a different look from the others that I tried. I like the idea of making the statue look a bit out of this world. I will get more into that below.

Technical Data

This was a three shot HDR image that was processed in Photomatix. I used the black and white preset in the program to add a bit of punch here, and then exported the file back into Lightroom. It was there that I realized that I could use a preset on it that I had not used before. I used the Steampunk Afternoon preset that I bought from Trey Ratcliff. I think that it had is uses, but I could never find one. I finally have. I think that this preset looked great with all of the detail that was brought out in the HDR process. I may have to try this technique again in the future.
