Great Light

courthouse

Photo of the Day

Today I thought that I would lay off the vacation pictures for a while. The trip to California came at just the right time to allow me to relax a bit, and I have had fun reliving that trip through my pictures. I took this picture last October while covering the Zombie Walk in downtown Lafayette. The walk had ended, and the light was fading. I loved the way that the golden light was dancing off the courthouse. I did not have any other lens with me other than my 70-200mm so I was faced with the task of framing things a little differently than I was used to. I had some fun coming up with some ways to frame the different landmarks in town.

Technical Data

This picture was an easy edit. I used the Matt Kloskowski light sports preset in Lightroom to get me close to where I wanted to be. It really has a way to punch up the RAW file to get me started. I did decrease the vignette a bit, and I adjusted the white balance. I adjusted the highlights as well to add a bit more detail back into the picture.
