Photo of the Day
Today was a busy day. I attended the Purdue Football game against Marshall, and then the bouts that the Lafayette Brawlin’ Dolls had tonight. We had seats in the end zone for the football game so my vantage point was not what it normally is. I did not take pictures of too much game action, but that did force me to find something else to shoot. Just before the band moved before the half I noticed the awesome reflection of the crowd in this Tuba (I know its not a tuba). I decided to give it a shot, and I liked how it turned out. I may have a bonus picture or two tomorrow, but for now enjoy.
Technical Data
The biggest adjustment done to this shot was the crop. I was 36 plus rows up from this scene, and even my new lens could not get me close enough. I cropped in to get the shot that I really wanted when I saw it. Maybe in a couple of weeks when I am up close to the band I can get a shot with my wide angle lens. I then performed the normal adjustments that I have been doing lately to it. I also added a slight vignette to bring you in to the middle.
Kelby Worldwide Photowalk
Here is that part of the post where I talk about the photowalk that I am leading on campus after the Wisconsin game in October. The date is October 13th to be exact, and the walk will start at 4 o’clock est at the Neil Armstrong Statue in front of the Armstrong Hall of Engineering. Over 1,100 photowalks are planned around the world. If you are not near West Lafayette then you kind find a walk near you on the Kelby site. Sign up now to be part of this event. Over 22,000 walkers have already signed up so far. You don’t have to be a pro (I am far from it) to attend. Any kind of camera is welcome as well. Here are a few links to the various sites which promote the event. If you want to sign up you should do so on the Kelby site in order to be eligible for the prizes though.
