Today was a busy day just before the start of a vacation. I really did not have the time that I would have liked to get a stellar picture. I guess I will have to save those for Maryland. I saw this lone dead dandelion in the backyard. It made me think that the ground is so dry that even they are not growing. I thought that I would try and get a good shot of it. I wanted to get it with the sun coming through it, but it just didn’t seem to work.
This was shot with my 18-135mm kit lens. With the specialty lenses that I own I don’t pull this one out as much as I used to. It is a nice lens though, and it allowed me to simulate a macro lens a bit here. I held the flower out in my hand and shot it with the lens all the way out. It sort of worked, but reminds me that I have a lot of work to do shooting flowers up close. This was cropped a bit in Lightroom, but that was about it.
As I said earlier I leave tomorrow for a few days. I don’t want this blog to become stagnant so I have some posts waiting to go. I actually already have one for in the morning written and saved. It should post right about the time that I get on my flight. The rest I can post from the road with my iPad, but it beats this blog sitting empty for a week. If I can get internet access for my computer the countdown will not be interrupted. If I cannot get access I will have to post the pictures when I get back. I would rather not do that, but you can enjoy some older travel pictures in the meantime.
