Today I had to go into work for a little while first thing in the morning. As I left I knew that I would have time to set up somewhere to get the sunset. Usually I am so busy getting ready for work that I don’t think about getting a sunrise picture. I am not really a morning person so sunsets are more my speed. Today though I had a great chance to get the sunrise. I set up in the same location as yesterday’s photo. I loved how the train looked with the Tate & Lyle plant lit up in the background. I quickly realized though that the plant would not be totally visible from where I was. I moved to the other side of the highway on another access road in order to get a better view. I liked my view, but something was missing. I then decided to try the spot I was saving for later at the back of a cemetery. It was now light out so I didn’t feel bad going back there. I parked at the back of the cemetery and walked up a slight hill to get this vantage point. The ground was very uneven, and I struggled to stay still to get a picture. I didn’t want to be on a very high ISO so I had to have longer exposures than I was comfortable with on the uneven ground. I managed to stay still enough though through the six exposures to get this shot. I actually like it more than when the smoke from the plant was illuminated by the morning light. Later today I will post a couple more shots from this shoot to my Flickr account.
I really like the train shots, they seem to go so well with HDR.
