Day 86: The Path Ahead

Today I really didn’t want to go far to get a picture. I actually ended up farther away from home than I thought I would be when I started out. I went to battleground to get a picture that I have been thinking about trying, and then I ended back up at the Davis Ferry Bridge. Today though I was on the other side of it. The Wabash has receded to the point that you can now walk up to the stairs to get onto the bridge. I don’t know why I had to do this. You can drive up to within 10 feet of the bridge on the other side. I just wanted to hike it though. The mud really did not bother me on the hike. What did bother me were the huge paw prints that I saw in the mud. I don’t know what creature left them, but they were big. That helped me quicken my pace to get to the bridge. I only took a couple of pictures at the bridge, but I ended up going with this one for today. The HDR process made the path a little too light. I could have fixed that, but I left it how it was for the purposes of this post.

With the new year approaching everything seems new again. You feel as if you have a fresh start. People make their resolutions, and then of course they fall right back into their old routine. I think that the point is that you can make your own path. Sometimes that path will have a dirty river over it, but if you keep at it you can get the shot that you want. I had a good year in 2011 with my camera. In fact I picked up a much better camera to help me out a bit. I hope that 2012 can be even better.

This is my 100th post on this blog. I did not plan it that it would be on a holiday, but I think that it is pretty cool that it fell there. I already have some followers, and nearly 2,500 views. It is kind of neat how the site has grown from one where I was the writer/reader to one where others actually read what I write. Thanks for your support!

Happy New Year!
