October 7th, 2011: Friday Night Lights!

My first photo of the day was taken tonight at a local high school football game. I love watching high school sports, and the access that you get is hard to beat. I would be hard for me to get this close to the action at a college game let alone a pro contest.

This picture was harder to get than you would think at least for me. The lighting at the stadium is very weird. I really was excited to try out my new 60D under the lights. The problem though is that the field has many dead spots for light. Just looking at the picture you can see how different the light is all over the field. I always have shot in shutter priority mode when capturing sports. In fact I shot that way before I even knew what that was. I guess I found the mode by accident, and I have stuck with it ever since.
