U.S. Post Office – LaPorte, Indiana

The LaPorte Post Office

This blog has a few themes that always pop up. I love to photograph a post office when I visit a town. The places that people gather are interesting to me. This post office though was the one that I grew up with so it was weird to do the same treatment to it. The brick is similar to what I photograph in a lot of the small towns that I visit, but the building is much larger. I don’t think of LaPorte as a bigger town, but when you look at the post office you realize that maybe it was bigger than I thought it was.

The Sony A7RIII

As I was grabbing this photo it dawned on me that this is yet another photo made with the Sony A7RIII. My Sony A7RIV had an accident on a tripod so it was out of service for a couple of years. The RIII was in a box to be sold and came out of retirement for what I thought was a little while. It turned out that old camera made thousands of road photos for me. It was the camera that really started this new idea of what I would photograph.
