The Satellite Inn

The Satellite Inn

This is a place that I used to go to a ton when I was a kid. They would have fish frys on Friday nights and I would order lake perch which is the fishiest thing that you can eat. It had that harsh taste to it. As a kid I loved it. We went there so often that I called one of the cooks grandma. My Grandma Novak was not relation to me, but as a kid anyone who made food that good must have been related to me. This bar has a really cool history that may even involve bootlegging during prohibition. That might be how we knew the family. It is probably far too late to dig into that history, but I am interested in it.

50 For 50

This is going to be a crazy theme. For the next fifty days I plan on posting a photo of a place that has some meaning to me. Last August I came up with a theme for a week showing some Purdue memories. At the end of this fifty days I will turn fifty. I thought that it would be fun to take a look back at some places that bring back memories for me. This can’t be an all inclusive list, but one that I hope will be fun for you as well as me.
