The Home Of Slicer Football
Tonight the LaPorte Slicer football team starts their season so it only makes sense that this post shows off the field where they play. It is hard to believe but it has been 33 years since I last put on the pads. The funny thing is that this view of the stadium really hasn’t changed in all those years. It still looks the same as it did when I used to walk through those doors. I am writing this ahead of time, but I would love to get to see the inside of this stadium again. Maybe I can make that happen. A lot of memories were made at this place. You have the fun moments on game day, but also the memories made during the various practices. At time I miss the fun of game day, but I will never really miss those old two a day practices when the sun was melting us. Although at my age I might fall apart if I even got brushed by on the field.
50 For 50
This is going to be a crazy theme. For the next fifty days I plan on posting a photo of a place that has some meaning to me. Last August I came up with a theme for a week showing some Purdue memories. At the end of this fifty days I will turn fifty. I thought that it would be fun to take a look back at some places that bring back memories for me. This can’t be an all inclusive list, but one that I hope will be fun for you as well as me.
