Corey Glover Opens For Soul Asylum At Loeb Playhouse
Friday night before Soul Asylum took the stage Corey Glover of Living Colour opened for them. It was just Corey out there singing. I am someone who does not like to be the center of attention so I immediately thought about how brave that was. His backup came from his phone, but the show was his voice. He put on an amazing show during his short time out there. The highlight for me was his cover of Use Me by Bill Withers. During Covid I really went deep on Bill Withers, and this was one of my favorite songs of his. Corey did an amazing job on it.
Wanting More
The job of the opener is to of course open for the band. For the artist though I assume they want to put more eyes on themselves as well. You should leave wanting more of the opener. That was the case with Corey. I was really bummed when his part of the night was over. It was a simple set up, but it showcased what an amazing artist he is.
