hey, nothing Visits Indianapolis
Wednesday night we were in Indy to see hey, nothing perform at the HI-FI. I will admit when my wife pointed their name out the last time that we were at the HI-FI I knew nothing about them. I started working them into my editing playlists though and found that they had some great songs that made the editing process not as bad. I watched a few videos of them on YouTube as well and they are funny as well as being talented musicians. It was cool to see all of that come together in person. We might have been the oldest people in the room by twenty years, but we had a blast.
Three Songs Then Camera Down
For this show I went to the front for the first three songs to make photos. Making photos for the wire service has some benefits. When the three songs were done I went back to my spot and just enjoyed the concert. It was really nice having my gear in the show though. The light is always so good that I have wanted to see what I could do in these dark venues for a while now. This was my chance and it was really fun.
Waiting For The Light
Concert photography is fun, but at times it seems like you are just waiting for the light. You can have the gesture and everything in your favor, but the light just isn’t there. With the lights at this show they were cycling around. I would wait for them to be close and then get ready to make the photo. It makes things a little harder, but at the end of the day that is why photography is so fun. If it were easy then the good photos wouldn’t mean so much.

The Details
I keep trying to get more of the details into my photos. It is great to get overall images, but the small details can help round out a gallery. Here the bracelets of Tyler made me want to get a little closer.
Another Concert Run
This was the third concert in six days for me. It seems like I have runs where I photograph music. I would like to do more music when I can. The lenses needed are smaller and lighter than what I need for sports. In the next year I would like to add more music to me portfolio. Below are a few bonus photos from this show.
