An Outtake From A Photo Session
I feel weird calling this photo an outtake. When I was on the scene I could only have hoped to have made a photo like this. As the night went on though the blue sky and the moon just kept looking better, and I was able to make a photo that I liked much more. What is funny is that this is the photo that I went out to make. The smoky skies would make for some nice color as the sun set. The moon would have a little color too. I wish that on every photo that I plan like this that I could get a couple of photos that make the blog. I really like this one, and it probably could have been posted a little sooner.
Going Back Home
I lived in LaPorte for a large portion of my life. I knew every inch of the town. Now when I go back I feel like a stranger. I moved away in 2011 so it makes sense because it has been some time since I was there regularly. There are iconic portions of town though that I wanted to photograph while I was in town. I tried to put the courthouse in every photo that I could. It looms large over the town. Here though I got more than I could have ever hoped for. It is always fun to make a photo like this one. In Lafayette I have run out of large things to put next to the moon. I just feel like I am making the same photo over and over. It was pure luck that I was in LaPorte at the perfect time to make this photo.

Beautiful photo! 😍
