A Beautiful Sunset While Waiting On The Moon

Last week while waiting for the moon rise on Pickett Park I was watching the sky change color. This is one of my favorite times of night as the gradient always looks amazing. I was set up to make very tight images on the night, but zoomed out to show as much as I could. One of the benefits of being on site so early was that I was able to watch the sky change.

A Fickle Photographer

The fun thing about being a photographer is how much you want the weather to change. For sunset I wanted clouds in the background to catch some of the last light of the day. To the south the clouds looked amazing. Of course when the main event of the night happened I wanted a clear sky to see the moonrise. Here I think I had the best case scenario. I had a great gradient in the sky during sunset, and I had a clear view of the bell tower for the moon rise.
