Catching A Sunset On Campus
A while back we had a night with no softball or baseball so I ran up to campus to make a sunset photo. The wildfire smoke helped make the normal golden light a little more golden. I had been watching these amazing sunsets from different fields, and I finally had a chance to make a planned sunset photo. This is something that I have done before, but it is always amazing to have your plan start to work. I love putting the bells of the clock tower and the sun together. The fun thing about the clock tower on the campus of Purdue is that you don’t need the detail of it to know what it is. While the smoke is still out there I need to plan another photo at sunset.
Planning The Photo
For most of these planned photo sessions I started the planning by using the Photographers Ephemeris. This program lets me take the sun and line it up very easily with subjects that I want to use. Even with all of the planning I always end up moving a little bit at the last minute to make these things work. This one worked out just the way that I hoped that it would.
