Emotion!
I love capturing emotion. If you have read this blog for any length of time then you have probably heard me drone on about how my photography spark was lit at a conference in Chicago called Capturing True Emotion. I bought a GroupOn to get in, and it was the best decision I ever made. When there is emotion I try and be there to capture it. Yesterday the game was a good enough one that late I was able to really capture some good emotion. These moments are why I do what I do.
Another Trip To Mackey Arena
I love making photos in Mackey Arena. Thanks to Illinois State I was lucky enough to get another opportunity to make photos in there yesterday afternoon. This was the last time this year that the Purdue women’s team will play in Mackey and there are only two more men’s games in there. There is a very real possibility that I photographed my last game in there this year yesterday. As the Big Ten season kicks up in the new year my chances become less and less to get in there. As always I tried to soak it all in.
Starting Things Off Right
The hard part about not really knowing your team is not knowing the pregame routines. When the team huddled up after the intros I was ready to make a photo from down low looking up. When I realized what was going on I quickly switched it up to make the above photo. Getting one good one in right away is always a good thing.
Bonus Photos
Here are a few bonus photos from the game yesterday. It was my third basketball game in three days, and I was feeling pretty good about my photography heading into it. Feeling a little sharper let me go for it a little more during the game which I hope paid off. As it looks right now I may only have a couple of basketball games left this year. The last couple of weeks I have really been having fun making basketball photos so I have been looking for more games to add to my calendar.
