Spending Some Time With The Goldfinches

This weekend I did not have a lot to do photographically so I spent some time watching the goldfinches going through the cone flowers. This is a fun process because my 600mm lens is pretty much all manual focus now as the focus motor is not working. It is a fun challenge to make the photos though. With the new cameras they put the focus right on the eye for you. Here all of the work was on me which was pretty fun.

Who Is That Crazy Man?

I sometimes wonder how it looks as I sit out in front of my house with an old dinosaur 600mm lens pointed back at the house. A few heads turned as they walked by and saw me out front. I am sure that some questions were asked, but the photos are worth it. Below are a few bonus photos from my fun this weekend.
