Listening In The Woods

Last week while walking to the fox den I kept hearing a northern parula in the same spot everyday. On the way back to my car a couple of those days I stopped and just stood there for a while. I was lucky enough that the parula came down low enough that I was able to make some photos of it. This year I have been lucky enough to get a couple of opportunities up close with a parula. All three of those encounters were because I heard the bird far before I saw it. I wish that I knew what more birds sound like, but that is a lot to learn in a short time.
