The Prothonotary Warbler At The Celery Bog

Spring Migration Is In Full Swing At The Celery Bog

This morning I spent some time at the Celery Bog watching all of the birds that are making their way through the area on their way north. Many of them are nice and colorful, and after a long winter they are a welcome sight. The prothonotary warbler is one of those birds that I love to see this time of the year, but they usually are not too common. Today I heard that one was hanging out so I went down near the water to see if I could make a photo of the bird. It waited until the sun came out before it popped out and posed for us. It left just as quickly as it arrived, but it gave me an awesome photo opportunity in the short time it was there.

Waiting Is The Hardest Part

I often sing this Tom Petty song while out making photos. You don’t always get the photo that you want right away. You have to spend some time waiting on it. I don’t know how long I waited down by the water, but it was a fairly long time. When you are rewarded for your wait though it makes it all worthwhile.
