Using Blue Hour To My Advantage

This time of year with all of the Christmas lights the best time to photograph them is during blue hour. Friday night before the storms rolled in I was down by the depot in Lafayette waiting for just that time to photograph the courthouse and the Christmas lights on top of it. After some earlier rain I had some nice puddles to use to my advantage. What is better than one courthouse lit up for Christmas? Two of them of course.

A New Reflection Idea

For some reason I had the idea for an older reflection. I took the photo at the top of the post and then desaturated the reflection part of the photo so that it was black and white. I like the idea, but I don’t know how it works here. It was definitely something fun to try on this photo.
