The Ruby-crowned Kinglet Visits The Backyard

The Ruby-crowned Kinglet Pays The Backyard A Visit

This has been a fun fall watching birds that I used to travel to see come to my backyard. One bird that is always a little harder than most to photograph is the ruby-crowned kinglet. It does not usually stay in one place long so you really need to be in the right place at the right time to see them. Luckily for me this one decided my tree in the backyard was a good hunting spot. It stayed on this branch and thought about its next move just long enough for me to make this photo.

Some Patience Pays Off

I actually had two good days with this bird in the backyard. A lot of days around it as well when the bird just didn’t cooperate and stayed in places where I couldn’t photograph it. On the days when things didn’t work out though I made other photos that I liked. Sometimes you just have to wait for the right opportunity. Here I was lucky and I had two of those.
