The Classic Nuthatch Pose

I don’t know that there is a bird that has a more iconic pose than the nuthatch. When you are watching them you know that you just have to wait to see it. Here it had grabbed something from the tree, and I just knew that I had to wait for it to show me what it grabbed. It didn’t last very long, but it made for a nice photo.

Practice Makes Perfect

For the last week or so I have been making photos with the old 600mm lens of the birds that have been visiting my backyard. I have been using the small focus point to focus on them. After doing that for a while the players on Saturday look huge to me. Bird photography has really helped me step up my sports photography.
