Purdue Sweeps Jacksonville State To Open The Stacey Clark Classic
It seems like a yearly tradition to spend a weekday morning in Holloway Gymnasium watching some tournament volleyball. I will talk more about this in a later post, but the Stacey Clark Classic is always a special tournament for me. Stacey was an amazing person that we lost too soon. It is great that Purdue honors her every season with this tournament.
Trying Out The Sony 135mm f/1.8 At Volleyball
I bought this lens in the middle of a pandemic. A lot of the photos that I had in mind with it for sports never happened because I was in the stands making photos. Of course we are now back on the field and courts so I can play with this thing a little. I took it to the morning session just to see if it was feasible. I had my 70-200mm lens with me in case things didn’t work out. It worked so well though that I didn’t even take the 70-200mm lens to the night session. I would like to test this lens out in a high school gym to see how it performs there. The extra light it can gather would only seem like it could help.
More Photos From The Match
I wasn’t at the match in an official capacity so here is my gallery from my time there. The rest of the weekend I am photographing for Purdue so I will link to the galleries there for those posts.
