Hovering With The Eastern Kingbird

Taking Flight With The Eastern Kingbird

Last year my goal was to make more in flight photos of smaller birds. Of course my time at the bog was diminished so I ended up just taking whatever was given to me out there. The other morning though I was blessed with this cool opportunity with an eastern kingbird. It was cool with me being near it, and then it decided to hover and look for food in the early morning light. It even gave me a slight head turn so that the morning light could reflect off of its eye. It really was a cool way to spend a few minutes in the morning.

Getting All Of The Looks

This is the typical photo that I make of the kingbird. It is on a stick wondering who or what I am. It is still really cool to make these photos, but I think that the photo at the top of the post tells a much greater story.
