A Goldfinch Gold Mine

Finding Some Luck At The Celery Bog

This morning I went for a walk at the Celery Bog. It was the walk that I was supposed to take yesterday, but the weather was not conducive to good photography. Today things were a little brighter, but still pretty dark out there. I decided that it was more about the walk and went out to see what I could find. About halfway through my walk I saw something flash in front of me so I paused to try and find it. It was a goldfinch! That little spot of color in a brown landscape was just what I was hoping to find. I quickly realized that more were coming in until I had about ten to choose from.

Good Things Come In Threes

For nature photography it seems like odd numbers rule the day. One bird is good. Two just usually seems off. Three for some reason always seems like the perfect number to me. I was photographing two of these birds and I thought to myself that it would be great if another flew into the background. Within five seconds one did. This is the second day in a row that I hoped for something to change and it did to make the photo better. Join me tomorrow when I hope that a million dollars shows up in the bokeh of my photo.
