Catching A Great Sunset At Purdue
Last night the storm was nearly through our area, and it looked like it could clear by sunset. If things turned out like I hoped they would we would have an amazing sunset. I decided to go for my nightly walk on the opposite side of the Purdue campus from where I have been walking lately. I thought that the light in the sky could be a great background for the new Purdue arch. The storm moved a little slower than I would have liked, and I didn’t get my entire sky lit up. I did however get to watch this little bit of light slowly move up the sky. It was still fun to watch and document.
Stitching It All Together
I made one image that was fairly close to this with my 12-24mm lens at 12mm. I decided to flip the camera to portrait orientation and made eleven images going across the frame. I knew that if I gave myself enough overlap that the resulting image would be beautiful and huge. The image stitched together nicely giving me a very big file that would be suitable for hanging in a very large format. This photo as will all of my Purdue images is now 25% off at checkout when you use the code “Purdue”.
