A Warm Walk Around Prophetstown State Park

I made this photo a while back while I was out at Prophetstown. I went out looking for owls with no luck. I was able to see some ducks up close though. The sun was perfect giving me some great light to make the water and the duck look great. I love it when things work out like this. I need to get back out and make some wildlife photos.

Seeing Ducks Up Close

Usually for waterfowl I end up across the water from the wildlife. Maybe that is why I don’t get as excited for birding this time of year. I love making the photos. When they are so far away the photography is not any fun at all. You are cropping in to a crop just to see the birds. When they are close though it can be amazing.
