A Carolina Wren Hanging Out At The Celery Bog
On Monday I went out the Celery Bog with very low expectations. The main pond was completely frozen over. I had a glimmer of hope when I saw that on the back pond there was some open water, but still no good images. I still had a good walk going though so I decided to take the long way back to the car. I don’t normally go that way, but you never know what you will find. There is a certain bridge where I normally see some Carolina Wrens. With that in mind I slowed my pace down a little and started looking at both sides of the trail. Sure enough two wrens showed themselves ahead of me. I quickly walked ahead to be in their path as they came near me. The curious birds did come close to give me a couple of looks. I love it when I make a photo that I like on a day when I never expected to.
Attention!
While posing for me this wren suddenly came to attention and faced the nature center. At first I tried to figure out what it was doing, and then I realized that it must have been facing the flag. I wondered if it was hearing the National Anthem. Just in case I was missing something I stood and put my hat over my heart just in case. After a bit the wren went back to its usual behavior so I assumed the anthem was over. I really need to get my hearing checked.
I think you might want to take some time off!!!! But, as for the images, …in addition to the wonderfully sharp details, I like the soft, complimentary backgrounds. Nice! M:-)
I would take time off, but my hobby is photography so I end up doing it anyway!
