Mourning Birds Take Flight

The Flight Of The Mourning Bird

I don’t go out on my trips to photograph mourning birds. There is something about them that I don’t think looks good to the camera. On this day I was following a harrier who was swooping down and startling birds. I assume that it was looking for something in particular to snack on. These mourning doves though took off and were safe.

Make The Photo

As the doves took off I instinctively made the photo. The harrier had turned the other way and was out of my range. After I made the photos I laughed to myself wondering why. When I saw this photo on the back of the camera though something stood out to me. I never thought that this blog would have a post about mourning birds on it when I started this thing. Now it has had two. How quickly things can change.
