Storms Roll In To West Lafayette, Indiana

A while back we were walking in downtown Lafayette with a storm brewing. I love this sculpture downtown, and I thought that it would look great with the stormy sky. I stopped and quickly made this image. After we made this picture we went and had a bite to eat. During dinner the skies really opened up for about 45 minutes. By the time we left it had pretty much stopped.

Making The Snapshot

Sometimes I spend a while thinking about and executing a photo. Other times like the photo above it just is as easy as walk by and make a couple of photos. I worked the scene for about twenty seconds before moving on. Not every photo is going to win awards so you don’t have to spend hours on each one. This was one of my favorite photos from the day, and it did not take me too long to make it.
