On Top Of The Westin Austin Downtown

Getting Up Early For The Good Light

While in Austin most of my day was planned in some way or another. It was a wedding weekend, and that is the deal. I knew though that the early morning hours were all mine. The best light of the day is during blue hour. It happens twice a day, but during the blue hour at night I was usually busy. In the morning I could pick a couple of cool things to find and photograph. This was a pool that we went in the day before on the roof of the Westin Austin Downtown. Of course as I was swimming I thought that it would be a great location for a shoot in the morning. I was worried that it would be locked, but it was not. I went in and made my picture just as the sun was coming up. I wish that I had been here a little earlier, but I was exploring the rest of the roof. This is still a view worth waking up early for.

Looking Back At A Fun Week

That was a fun weekend in Austin with family. I have said it before on the blog, but after that week I am now convinced that all weddings should be destination weddings. You can take a look at my favorite photos from the trip to Austin here on my Exposure page.
