Watching Purdue Wrestling In Person
Sunday morning I went down to Holloway Gymnasium to see the Purdue wrestling team. Wrestling is a sport that I don’t cover often, and I am still not sure I always know what is going on. It does provide some interesting moments though. I only stayed for the first set of matches, but before the day was over Purdue had swept three teams. This team is on the rise, and it will be fun to see them along the way.
A Mat Can Make All The Difference
When I arrived at Holloway I knew that they had a surprise in store for the fans, but I didn’t know what it was. It turns out the team has a new wrestling mat. It is a big deal because the old mat was bright yellow, and it cast a yellow hue on anything near it. It made setting a white balance a nightmare. The new mat was awesome. It is very neutral, and that is important. It will be fun to see it in Mackey Arena when the Boilers take on Indiana.
The Week in Photos
This past week I did not make as many photos as I thought that I would. I made up for it with a great weekend. I was able to shoot football, roller derby, and wrestling. You can find some of my favorite photos from the week in my weekly Exposure page here.
